Volunteering Expo – Join Us For The ‘Value of Volunteering’ Workshop

Discover a wide range of inspiring volunteering opportunities on Saturday 9th March, from 10am-2pm, at the Social Care Exchange’s Spring Volunteering Expo.

Meet regional charities and find out how you can get involved in a variety of programmes as well as learn new skills during a series of inspiring workshops.

We’re excited to announce the first of the day's workshops, ‘The Value of Volunteering’ hosted by Voluntary Centre Services, who support volunteers and voluntary and community organisations across West Lincolnshire. This informal and relaxed session will give you the opportunity to discover how beneficial even small amounts of volunteering can be to your health and well being.

The workshop will highlight how to start volunteering, explore the range of opportunities out there and uncover sources of further information. This will be an interactive session, open to those seasoned in volunteering as well as those who are wanting to try volunteering for the first time.

Dianne Slapp, Voluntary Centre Services Lincoln Area Coordinator, says: “We’re really looking forward to hosting our workshop. There are so many benefits of volunteering, it’s open to anyone and can bring great personal rewards.”

Voluntary Centre Services operate accredited Volunteer Centres in Lincoln, Gainsborough and Sleaford - dealing with over 2,000 volunteer enquiries each year. They can offer help to anyone wishing to set up a group, funding advice and access to news and networks in the voluntary and community sector. The organisation also has an active team of invaluable volunteers working alongside staff to deliver services across each district.

The Value of Volunteering session will take place at 11.15am on Saturday 9th March. Reserve your free place here as places are limited. To find out more about the Volunteering Expo and to book your free entry ticket click here.
