Improving Access to Healthcare

The Social Care Exchange recently hosted a very successful specialist workshop - ‘Improving Access to Primary Care for Adults with Complex Needs’. Professionals from across Lincolnshire engaged in this challenging topic, exploring their views and experiences and making connections to help with future collaboration.

“One size does not fit all in healthcare, the system needs to be diverse to meet the needs of everyone”

Held in the Art to Exchange, the Social Care Exchange’s flexible exhibition space, the workshop welcomed interested parties to share best practice across sectors and the rich, engaged conversation resulted in several proposals to action.

“Many healthcare professionals are not knowledgeable in this area (Learning Disability), we need regular education and training to be available”

Led by leading Health and Social Care consultant Alan Rosenbach and Positive Behaviour Support specialist Dawn Maplethorpe, the event highlighted how as a community of health and social care professionals, knowledge, skills and experience can be used collaboratively to overcome current challenges in the sector.

“We need to embrace technology in care – there won’t be enough of a workforce for future need, we have to find other solutions”

Overall the workshop was found to be incredibly beneficial, the opportunity to network with others providing a fantastic opportunity to find solutions. To keep informed on future Health and Social Care events, follow our events calendar here.
