Volunteering Expo Exhibitors Announced!

We are delighted to announce the following organisations which will be exhibiting during our Volunteering Expo at the Social Care Exchange on Saturday 9th March, from 10am – 2pm.

As well as promoting a host of inspirational charities, the event offers the opportunity to learn and develop skills in workshops and through a line-up of inspiring speakers. Find out more about the Volunteering Expo and  book your free ticket  now.

 

Exhibitors will include:


Assist – providing support for local people with mental health needs, loneliness or struggling with life issues and working with people with dementia and their loved ones. Volunteering roles involve befriending and one to one visiting.

Cats Protection – helping around 200,000 cats and kittens every year thanks to the network of over 250 volunteer-run fundraising branches and 36 centres. Volunteer roles range from fundraising to fostering.

 

Home Start Lincolnshire- recruiting and training volunteers who themselves have parenting experience, to work with families in their own homes and responding directly to their individual needs. The organisation has three different types of volunteer role – Family Support Mentors, Volunteer Kids Patch Mentors and Volunteer School Readiness Project Mentors.

Lincolnshire Action Trust - LAT work with a variety of agencies within the criminal justice system to reduce re-offending by working with offenders. The charity offers a range of training opportunities and employment support to prepare people for their release. Volunteering opportunities include: working 1 to 1 with offenders to aid their resettlement into the community, working in visits centres and prisons to accommodate families and children of prisoners, and assisting release support staff.

Lincolnshire County Council Fostering & Adoption – a small regional team looking to recruit volunteers across the country, with roles ranging from permanence, task centred, sibling groups, additional needs and respite.

Linkage - for over 40 years the charity has delivered specialist education, care, employment and support services throughout the county.  Linkage supports young people and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities to learn, develop and achieve their aspirations in life. A range of volunteer roles are available from Ad-Hoc Fundraising; Graphic Design and Photography; Charity Shop Volunteers; Van Drivers; Volunteer Companion; Activities Volunteers and Gardeners.

LIVES – a charity with over 700 volunteers who provide essential emergency medical care before an ambulance arrives. Opportunities include becoming a Lives responder and fundraising.

 

NHS Blood and Transplant – aims to save and improve lives. The organisation manages blood and platelet donation, and organ, stem cell and tissue donation and transplantation. There are looking for volunteers to register as blood donors and help save lives.

NW Counselling Hub – Counselling support for 4yrs old and upwards, young people, adults, couples and families. Training and COD events for training counsellors and qualified counsellors. Volunteer roles available include Admin Volunteers and Assessments Volunteers.

Samaritans - the Lincoln branch has been operating for over 50 years, now with 50 volunteers providing listening services to anyone in distress or despair. There are lots of opportunities to get involved with Lincoln Samaritans such as Listening Volunteer roles and Support Roles.

Say Hello – aiming to reduce social isolation in Lincolnshire, Say Hello provides funding to support adults with physical or learning disabilities to socialise with others through recreational and leisure activities and by enabling education and training.

Total Voice Lincolnshire – delivers free independent and confidential advocacy. Total Voice are looking for Volunteer Advocates to become part of a team in helping the community. We are looking to create hubs of Volunteers Advocates, who will support people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected. Volunteers receive full initial and on-going training as well as regular support and supervision from the Volunteer Coordinator.

 

Umbrellas – aims to provide an inclusive leisure and recreational facility for children, young people and adults with additional needs.  Volunteers are needed to help raise funds, represent the organisation on fundraising stalls at fairs and support with organising events.

Voluntary Centre Services – operate accredited Volunteer Centres in Lincoln, Gainsborough and Sleaford - dealing with over 2,000 volunteer enquiries each year. They offer help to anyone wishing to set up a group, funding advice and access to news and networks in the voluntary and community sector. The organisation also has an active team of invaluable volunteers working alongside staff to deliver services across each district.
