Could you volunteer?

It is estimated that around 15 million people in the UK volunteer at least once a month - equating to almost 2 billion hours every year!

On March 9th 2019, the Social Care Exchange will be showcasing the breadth of the region’s volunteering opportunities at its Spring Volunteering Expo. Gathering the area’s leading charities and organisations, visitors will be able to come and discover the range of volunteering opportunities on their doorstep.

As well as the opportunity to find out more about these good causes and how you can get involved, there will also be a series of informative workshops that you can take part in.

More information on the workshops and the charities and organisations taking part will be released in coming weeks so make sure you follow @TheSCExchange on Twitter and like @SocialCareExchange on Facebook.

People chose to volunteer for many different reasons, for some it provides the opportunity to enhance their CV ready to enter employment or learn new skills, for others they want to make new friends or give something back to their community. There is no denying that volunteering can be very rewarding.

For many charities, the time that volunteers give enables them to operate with lower overheads and make the money that people so generously donate go further and help more people.

The Spring Volunteer Expo will take place at the SCE, Low Moor Road, Lincoln, LN6 3JY, on March 9th 2019, between 10am-2pm.
